PACKAGING DESIGN
King George’s Hall in Blackburn, one of Lancashire’s premier live events venues, has been regularly hosting big names from the world of music and comedy in the beautiful art-deco building, opened in 1921. The venue operations manager approached us to create a brand identity for their own label gin. With our experience in spirits branding, he felt confident that we could deliver a label design and marketing materials that would be attractive to visitors, encouraging them to order a G&T at the bar or buy a bottle as a souvenir of their experience.
Inspired by the stunning building interior, the graphical elements of the label and marketing materials were carefully crafted to create a stylish look and feel in-keeping with the surroundings of the beautiful, historic venue.
Attention to detail makes all the difference when creating a premium spirit label, and we used intricate design features of the art-deco style, to construct the illustration that wraps around the label, including a stylised image of the front of the venue.
The typographic styling for the name of the gin was inspired by the famous plaque that is situated inside the building, to commemorate its opening in 1921.
We worked with our printers to specify special finishes to the label, including gold foil detailing and a matt finish, for a luxurious appearance that is as wonderful to look at, as it is to hold.
