CATHEDRA GIN

Blackburn Cathedral in Lancashire commissioned us to develop a unique brand identity and packaging design for their own premium gin. The gin was sold in the cathedral shop, online and to other cathedral’s across England to sell in their gift shops. Representative of historic architectural styles common to English cathedrals, a unique lattice work pattern was designed to wrap around the bottle.

  • Following discussions and extensive research into English cathedrals, we proposed a range of brand names and stories for the product. The name ‘Cathedra’ was chosen, inspired by the name given to the special throne that sits within every cathedral. The intricate architectural pattern was printed in a special gold ink on a textured dark grey, luxury Italian paper.

    Sales of the gin raised funds for essential building works at Blackburn Cathedral.
